My Story

I was born at Dorset County Hospital – where my Mum worked in the NHS for 27 years. I was raised in Weymouth, and spent my summer holidays visiting my grandparents in Swanage. Growing up here taught me my values: respect everyone, work hard, and look out for one another. Now I want to put these values into action.

I spent my weekends playing rugby with Weymouth RFC and working with my Dad at the Marlboro fish and chip shop by the Harbour. I went to school at nearby Holy Trinity and then All Saints.

After finishing my studies, I began working on political campaigns in Britain and the United States, where I cut my teeth as a community campaigner. I now have a decade of experience leading winning campaigns. Last year I was elected as a Labour Councillor in London - winning with over 60% of the vote. I support residents really struggling with the Tory-made cost of living crisis, and I advocate for families caught up in Britain’s housing crisis.

Closer to home, I have been standing shoulder to shoulder with fellow GMB members in Weymouth - joining paramedics and ambulance drivers demanding a fair pay settlement. I already know what it takes to stand up for our community. Whether standing up for our local NHS services when threatened with closure or protecting our coastline and rivers from being trashed by unaccountable water companies, I’m proud to stand up for my home town.

I have loved working alongside local activists to rebuild our campaign machine so we can win back South Dorset. Together, we have begun reconnecting with communities with more than 5000 conversations on the doorstep so far, and we’re just getting started!

Today I work with key decision-makers to combat economic crime, clean up our politics, and banish dirty money from our economy. I know how to make change happen nationally.

This is why I am standing to be the next Labour Party parliamentary candidate for South Dorset. With your help, I want to champion my home town, defeat Richard Drax, and win back South Dorset.
